Plant Mama's Holistic Dispensary started with a small shelf of Hemp, Kava, and Kratom edibles at Da Kine’s Kava. Combined with too many cuttings from thriving houseplants and a desire to provide more holistic alternatives for the people of Durham, the owners of Da Kine's created a “little sister” business with the goal of providing the Durham community with a safe, reliable, and curated selection of various types of plant medicine.

Our purpose at Plant Mama’s is to help people live a naturally stress-free lifestyle. Our staff is well-educated and up to date on current laws and regulations regarding hemp products and other plant medicines.
About You:
You are an independent, customer-service oriented individual with a passion for plants, alternative medicine, and/or hemp. You are curious and eager to learn continuously in order to remain up-to-date on the legal hemp industry. You are interested in joining a small team and working together closely with teammates to help grow our business!
Responsibilities:
As a Budtender, you will be responsible for assisting customers in finding products that best suit their needs and educating them about cannabinoids and other alternative medicines. Not to mention ensuring that customers are of legal age to purchase our products! You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment within the store and properly handling our stock, including caring for our houseplants and weighing, packaging, and properly storing bulk THCA, kava, and kratom. You will be expected to stay up-to-date on our constantly rotating menu, and able to tell customers about new products, make recommendations, and promote sale items. After an introductory training period, you will be expected to accurately open and/or close the store and complete day-to-day operations without assistance from management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred, with a strong emphasis on providing excellent customer experiences.
- Familiarity with cash register operations and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Able to work independently after the completion of training.
- Able to maintain cleanliness, tidiness, and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn about new products and industry trends.
- Knowledge of cannabis products, including strains, edibles, concentrates, and accessories is a plus but not required.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and climb a stepladder (reasonable accommodations can be made).
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
