General Description:
The Online Ministries Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of Mount Zion’s digital ministry. The Online Ministries Coordinator is primarily responsible to the Lead Pastor, and secondarily responsible to the Staff-Parish Relations Committee. This role involves technical, leadership, and pastoral skills and obligations. This position is based on a 15 hour per week schedule. Flexibility of schedule allows for daytime and evening hours, but involves weekly commitment to Sunday mornings during livestreaming.
Responsibilities:
Cooperate with the Lead Pastor and other staff in worship planning for weekly and occasional services
Recruit, train, and develop members of the church for online ministry (i.e. livestream camera technicians, in-house projection technicians, online hosts)
Lead and supervise volunteers to ensure quality online presentations and beneficial connections
Foster meaningful personal connection with and among those participating through online ministries
Develop and/or improve online opportunities for fellowship, worship, evangelism, service, discipleship, and stewardship
Manage the availability, maintenance, and storage of digital resources produced by the church (i.e. sermon videos) and used by the church (i.e. purchased videos, RightNow Media)
Manage the main church social media account, creating posts, monitoring interactions, and responding to questions and comments
Develop online advertising and outreach
Update the church’s website in relation to online ministries
Produce visual content in cooperation with the Lead Pastor to synchronize with the weekly sermon
Maintain, evaluate, and recommend upgrade of online equipment and related infrastructure (i.e. cameras, lighting, software, streaming services)
Create and edit digital resources as needed
Prepare and administer the annual online ministry budget in accordance with the mission of Mount Zion GMC
Attend the following meetings: Staff, Church Council, Worship Team
Engage in continuous learning through continuing education opportunities and personal study
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
This role involves both ministerial and technical aspects, but does not require ordination or a specific technical degree. We want someone who loves Jesus, people, and Mount Zion, who can work well with a team, and who is ready to learn whatever is needed for the role.
