I am looking for an additional person to work at my sawmill and around the farm, starting immediately. This is a full time position.

We do some cool and unusual work, such as milling oversize tree width slabs as well as long timbers, along with the normal daily milling.

The sawmill work consists of log milling, lumber stacking, stickering and drying process and general labor and maintenance activities. If needed we can train log identification, grade milling, yield milling, quartersawn milling and slabbing using hydraulic band, swingblade and chain slabber sawmills.

I'm looking for dependable and trustworthy people that are interested in contributing to the success of our business and participating in the long term benefits from their contributions. Employees are expected to take charge of a situation and make things happen without having to be told to do so.

The work is very physical, and consists of stacking and stickering green lumber, assisting with rolling logs onto the sawmill loading arms, loading waste slabs in a dump truck, cleanup around the mill, loading and unloading kilns, loader and equipment operation along with various farm work such as mowing, weedeating, equipment repair, general construction, etc.

Additional work is millwork, including running a jointer/planer, wide belt sander, straight line rip saw, horizontal resaw and 6 head moulder, and cabinetwork such as edge jointing and gluing up table tops.

Expected hours would be 40 - 50 hours a week (M-F) and starting compensation is $20.00 per hour for someone that is experienced with operating a sawmill or millwork. A well qualified candidate may start at a higher compensation depending upon your skill set, aptitude, attitude and competency.

A reevaluation will take place 30 days after starting and compensation adjusted if warranted. If you really impress my team and I with your attitude, skillset and worth ethic the reevaluation and/or raise will occur much sooner.

More highly skilled applicants (attitude, mechanic, construction, equipment operation, fabrication experience, sawmill experience, aptitude, etc.) will be compensated at a higher rate.

Drug test and adequate equipment aptitude required. Respond with a resume or work history.
