Note: this is a full-time on-site position with a Monday to Friday schedule, serving
the greater Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill areas
Overview of Role: The Site Superintendent position is a key leadership role at Dove
Creek Contracting. Take charge of on-site operations, coordination, and supervision
of residential remodeling and new-home construction projects. The person in this role
maintains an outstanding level of craftsmanship and customer service, managing a
crew of workers and serving as a primary point of contact for homeowners on every
job they oversee. As a hands-on leader, they will play a pivotal role in maintaining
quality, safety, and project timelines.
Job Duties:
Coordinate and supervise all construction activities on assigned job sites
With complete knowledge of all contract and subcontract documents,
drawings, and specs, create and update project schedules and plans
Submit daily reports for on-site work progress
Maintain open, daily communications with Project Manager
Prepare a three week look ahead schedule, projecting changes or pauses in
the project schedule and suggesting re-assignments as necessary
Estimate the amount of required materials and supplies needed for projects
and oversee their procurement on a daily basis
Communicate with clients and ensure they understand project progress
Communicate change orders to Client and Project Manager
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, or diagrams and communicate
instructions
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Obtain all necessary permits documents, and coordinate and direct
activities of inspection agencies, when necessary
Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of subcontractors and suppliers,
ensuring all subcontractor insurance requirements have been met
Inspect work to ensure it meets project requirements and applicable codes,
direct any re-performance of work, as needed
Carpentry work may be required at times, including but not limited to
demolition; framing; installation or repair of interior trim (crown, chair rail,
base, casing, shoe molding), bath and kitchen hardware, and cabinets;
installation of interior and exterior doors
Qualifications
Safely and competently operate equipment such as nail guns, saws, drills,
and other power and hand tools to saw, plane, drill, and mortise lumber
Ability to do basic math using tape measures and to measure angles
Work outside in a variety of weather conditions
Climb an A-Frame and 12-foot extension ladder
Ability to walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, kneel, push, pull and lift a
minimum of 50 pounds
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to pass a drug screening
Positive, friendly attitude, and the ability to motivate others to do their
best work
Certifications in construction management or related fields are a plus but
not required
