Jernigan Landscaping is looking to hire an experienced Landscape Installation, enhancement and maintenance crew leader!
We are a small company out of Wendell, NC that specializes in providing quality landscapes to our customers. We are a company that provides mostly landscape installation and enhancement services however, we do have a several maintenance contracts as well and we are working on growing that side of the business.
As the Landscape installation, enhancement and maintenance crew leader you will be responsible for:
-Managing, motivation and encouraging a team of 1-4 crew members.
-Working alone or with a team to accomplish the tasks at hand.
-Coordinating directly with the owner/manager to determine the schedule and what materials will be needed for upcoming projects.
-Planning and organizing job-sites to ensure that the proper resources are avalible
-Providing excellent customer service
-Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
-Provide information needed for billing and accurate job costing
-Reading and understanding landscape plans, construction documents and work orders
-Ensure projects are completed within work hours, guidelines and budget
-Assist in recruiting, training employees and enforcing company policies
-Operating and maintaining company vehicles and equipment
Ideal Qualifications and Skills:
-5 years experience in landscape installation and construction working with sod, plants, grading, pavers and natural stone to create patios and walls.
-Must have valid driver’s license and able to drive under company insurance. (Class A preferred)
-Having an associates or higher degree in landscape or construction field is preferred
-Ability to speak Spanish is preferred
-Reliable transportation to the shop everyday
-Licenses or industry certifications such as landscape contractor, pesticide applicator, irrigation contractor, ICPI, etc are preferred and will be rewarded with higher compensation.
-Attention to detail
-Ability to work long hours outside in all types of weather conditions
-Knowledge of landscape installation, hardscape and horticulture best practices
-Ability and knowledge to operate all types of equipment used in the landscape installation, grading and hardscape industry’s.
Requirements: Must be able to lift and cary up to 60 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be able to bend over and stoop for long periods of time.
