Brier Creek Vision Care is a well established optometry practice having served the Triangle area for 26 years. We are dedicated to providing exceptional eye care and personalized service to our patients. We are a busy, full-scope primary care practice also offering pediatric eye care, vision therapy, rehabilitative therapy, myopia control and specialty contact lens fitting.

Position Overview:

We are actively seeking an experienced assistant office manager to join our team. This role requires a blend of leadership and hands-on involvement in daily operations, ensuring smooth practice management and exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

● Lead, manage, and motivate staff to achieve practice goals

● Ensure efficient daily office operations, stepping into various roles as needed

● Assist in supervising and training office staff, including hiring, performance evaluations,

and disciplinary procedures

● Manage patient interactions, especially in resolving issues with a calm demeanor

● Conduct daily reviews of staff interactions to ensure task completion and resolve

outstanding matters

● Address and prioritize issues while balancing patient well-being and business interests

● Lead morning check-ins and monthly meetings with management team

● Provide clear guidance and constructive feedback to staff, promoting an attentive and

respectful work environment

● Serve as an alternate primary point of contact for external vendors

● Manage staff scheduling including time off requests and call ins

● Analyze daily production reports, year-to-date comparisons, and other relevant business

metrics

● Identify areas for growth and process optimization based on data analysis

● Maintain a detailed understanding of daily workflows to support staff, patients and

doctors effectively

Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards

Knowledge of human resource practices related to hiring, training and performance management

Preferred Skills:

● Ophthalmic technician or optical experience

● Previous managerial experience in the medical field

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously

● Familiarity with vision and medical insurance and billing processes

● Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and experienced with OfficeMate and

ExamWriter Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
