Job Description: Our client is seeking a qualified candidate to provide Software Systems Engineering services to support advanced customer cloud-based systems, acquisitions, and operations. As a software systems engineer on our team, you'll apply specialized knowledge of cloud-specific technologies to delivering new capabilities through deployment of well-engineered cloud solutions. The Software Systems Engineer will be the technical lead on software development projects and will provide architecture and engineering services to project teams. This candidate must have experience working on complex software development projects that must include constant awareness of security vulnerabilities and security issues. The Software Systems Architect provides accelerated implementation and deployment of new capabilities. Previous experience on US government solutions in the Cloud are preferred.

• Apply Configuration Management disciplines to maintain hardware/software revisions, security patches, hardening, and documentation

• Work with architect to design software solutions

• Present solutions to the government for review and approval (presentations)

• Develop and direct the development of content for a complex and growing infrastructure. This includes use cases for Dashboards, Active Channels, Reports, Rules, Filters, Trends, and Active Lists

• Implement designs that reduce Cloud and database costs

• Possesses a solid understanding of cloud enterprise networks (hardware, software, protocols), and knowledgeable of tools and practices, and proficiency in systems analysis and project planning

• Design Build and deploy systems

• Working Closely with ISSM, ISO and the rest of the Security Team to maintain Security requirements

• Coordinate and conduct event collection, log management, event management, compliance automation, and identity monitoring activities for systems

• Oversee systems and software hardening to DoD Standards

• Experience writing scripts with a scripting language

• Worked with Open-sourced solutions

• Resourcefulness, problem-solving aptitude, and self-motivation

• Experience with Cloud infrastructure, including Compute, Network, Storage, and Backup

• Knowledge of API design and Object-Oriented principles

• Provide input to the weekly and monthly Status Report

• Must be comfortable with military courtesies

Must Haves:

• Must be fluent in Python and Bash

• Have working knowledge of JavaScript (Node.js)

• Must be familiar with System Incident Monitoring and Event Notification (SIEM) or monitoring and alerting system design

• Final Secret clearance

• Experience with GitLab and the CI/CD pipeline

• Experience with additional tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible

• Experience with multiple operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, and Windows

• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Architecture Frameworks

• Experience working on DevOps Teams and Agile development

• DoD or other US government network experience

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Required Education and Certifications:

• BA or BS degree (in Computer Science preferred)

• Security+ CE

• AWS certification

Desired:

• Microsoft cert

• Experience with DODAF

• Experience with Identity Management
