Job Title: Software DeveloperJob DescriptionOur Algorithms, Modeling & Assessments Division is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with Windows and Linux OS experience. The position involves developing and improving an existing weapon effects software architecture for advanced physics-based computational models deployed through standalone applications, web services, and Docker containers. This system is used by the Department of Defense. Candidates should have a strong passion for software development and be committed to producing quality production software at all stages of the software lifecycle.Responsibilities

Develop and improve weapon effects software architecture

Deploy computational models through standalone applications, web services, and Docker containers

Ensure software meets Department of Defense standards

Collaborate with team members to integrate and maintain software

Participate in all stages of the software lifecycle

Essential Skills

Strong software development experience

Proficiency in Windows and Linux OS

Experience with C and Linux

Familiarity with Git

Experience with Eclipse and/or IntelliJ

Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with C#, Fortran

Knowledge of Red Hat and Ubuntu Linux

Proficiency with Visual Studio

Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence)

Experience with GitLab and CMake

Experience in weapon effects or other related DoD software systems and models

Current active security clearance (Top Secret preferred)

Experience developing and deploying software to DoD IA requirements

Knowledge of nuclear weapons effects and scientific programming

Work EnvironmentCandidates must be within 30-40 minutes of the office located at 8537 Six Forks Rd, NC. The majority of work is remote, with occasional on-site work required for classified tasks, trainings, and demonstrations. Working from home is allowed after 1-3 months, contingent upon progress towards becoming fully productive and integrated into the team. Performance issues may result in suspension of work-from-home privileges. Travel is minimal, likely less than one week per year.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
