Job Description

Key Elements:

  • Progress on the objective. The Program Management Lead needs to be a strategic thinker, but it’s critical that they take action and drive results. This needs to be a plan that can be implemented and drive change.

  • The successful candidate will:

    • bring a manufacturing mind-set to the construction program. This includes knowledge and research on to determine how manufacturers and other industries have solved problems in the past.

    • be able to calculate and determine tipping points where moving to automation, mass-production, prefab and/or modular makes sense for your business.

    • recommend changes to the supply chain such that minor design changes can be accommodated midstream and don’t result in massive project delays or cost increases.

Responsibilities:

  • Create processes, initiatives and programs to address gaps and to optimize.

  • Manage project execution from developing detail designs, selecting and awarding design and construction contracts, construction, testing and commissioning, project close out and handoff to operations with lowest Total Cost of Ownership, meeting safety/cost/schedule/quality targets and customer demands are met.

  • Define and develop cross-team roles, expectations and responsibilities.

  • Manage and report on functions shared across the program.

  • Provide execution plans for individual projects.

Qualifications

  • College or advanced degree in Engineering, Construction Management,

    Quantity Surveying or other related field or equivalent practical experience.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience managing, multi-group, multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Experience within a complex organizational settings (e.g. PMO, geographic dispersion, etc).

  • Experience with NAM regional construction markets, culture and practices. Experience with various project management tools and practices.

  • Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design build process and associated documents and contracts.

  • Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization and scheduling.

  • Organized, thoughtful and can defend their own ideas.

  • A hands-on doer, not just a manager.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to be persuasive and build consensus.
