Job Title: Inpatient CoderJob DescriptionAs an Inpatient Medical Coder, you will review inpatient medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes. This critical role ensures proper reimbursement from insurance companies and government healthcare programs. You will apply ICD-10/CM/PCS and CPT-4 codes based on physician documentation, adhering to strict federal coding rules. Additionally, you will abstract clinical and statistical information for outcome measures and monitoring, and serve in a lead role by assisting other hospital areas in the review, corrections, and rebills of coded accounts.Essential Skills

Deep understanding of medical terminology

Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT codes

Experience in Inpatient, Acute Care Hospital, Short term acute, Ambulatory Surgical, and ED or ER Coding

Familiarity with coding guidelines

Job TypeThis is an open ended contract. Work SiteThis is a fully remote position.Work EnvironmentFull remote for contract workers on an open-ended contract (project work). The position requires flexibility to work in the time zone of their leader during the initial start-up period (3 weeks). Candidates must possess their own equipment and be located in states except CO, HI, MA, NY, OH, PA.
