Implements appropriate pulmonary education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient with full consideration of patient safety needs.
Supervises the activity of the clinical staff.
Provides objective performance evaluations of the clinical staff.
Coordinates clinical staff scheduling.
Coordinates and supervises orientation of new respiratory care personnel.
Assists in the determination and implementation of cost effective procedures.
Recommends new policies and procedures, and revisions of such to the manager.
Responsible for the clinical proficiency of the respiratory care staff.
Coordinates cardiopulmonary continuing education events for the respiratory care staff and allied health personnel.
Participates as a cardiopulmonary resource liaison in hospital related committees, training sessions and other activities.
Maintains accurate department records.
Other InformationOther information:Education Requirements:● Bachelor's Degree required within 3 years of hire. Prefer candidates with Bachelor's upon hire.Licensure/Certification Requirements:● RRT with adult and neonatal intensive care experience required. ACLS , BCLS , NRP , PALS , RRTProfessional Experience Requirements:● Requires three (3) years of previous related experience in the field of respiratory therapy.Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:● LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information, professional journals and technical procedures. Ability to document clinical information. Ability to write reports and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from patients, physicians, family members and groups of managers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
