A Snapshot of Your DaySiemens Energy Inc – Grid Automation is searching for an Advanced Bid Engineer to work with a passion for customer engagement and satisfaction.This is an outstanding opportunity to join a strong team offering the best Grid Automation solutions in the market. The Bid Engineer will support proposals activity for Grid Automation Solutions in a global environment and report directly to Director Tender Management. The role will require close coordination and teamwork with Business Development / Sales / Application Engineering resources globally during the acquisition phase of assigned projects.Preferred work location: FloridaHow You’ll Make an ImpactThe top candidate will perform by effectively executing on key strategies and activities to include:

Create proposals for EPC’s and end customer within field of Protection and Control system in HV and MV substations and control center including hardware and software scope of supply.

Ensure assurance of the preparation of the proposals in high quality and in timeline with the customer requirements.

Analyze customer technical specifications to better understand aspects of the product and solutions.

Close collaboration and coordination with technical experts within team locally and overseas.

Develop, edit, and write original proposal responses and other sales-related documents.

Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of assigned industry structure, applications, terminology, trends, and issues.

Discover and understand customer’s primary business goals, operations, challenges, and requirements.

Validate and endorse the technical aspects of the solution offered in the bid.

Display a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or multi-functional problems.

Understand the Transmission Utility market as it relates to customer requirements, opportunities, and competition.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Control System Engineering or related field.

5 or more years of bid experience in substation control and protection system in energy transmission and distribution. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.

Strong understanding of the power distribution / transmission market and technologies, mainly in protection and control and HMI solutions, SCADA and Cybersecurity.

Prior EPC experience.

Experience working with the utility industry preferred.

Demonstrated business insight in balancing customer and business requirements, i.e., financials strategic and tactical thinking etc.

Ability to help put together multiple technical proposals concurrently.

Effective technical and business communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written). Analytical, customer centric, approach with proven results.

Inherent ability to work effectively and provide leadership in a team environment.

Efficiency in organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Travel up to 20% locally and internationally.
