The School Counselor works closely with teachers, advisors, and the admin team to ensure that Woods provides robust supports and care for the mental, social, and emotional health of our students.
Responsibilities:
Provide brief counseling to address social and emotional concerns and appropriately refers students to behavioral health specialists
Assist students in problem solving academic concerns
Facilitate peaceful and healthy conflict resolution with students
Serve as a lead resource for the MS and HS advisory program
Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with parents and behavioral health specialists on developing and implementing student supports
Qualifications:
Master's degree in counseling
Two (2) years of experience as a School Counselor preferred
Considerable knowledge of child/adolescent growth and development
Ability to collaborate with school faculty, advisors, parents, students, health care providers, and community organizations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
