Description We are offering a contract to hire opportunity for a Staff Accountant based in Pittsboro, North Carolina. The selected candidate will be instrumental in maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. This role involves working closely with our financial team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.Responsibilities Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses. Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally. Ensure all payments are completed on time (including accounts payable and bank deposits). Manage the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions. Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings. Organize financial forms, including tax forms and balance sheets. Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems. Perform internal audits and assist with external audits. Coordinate with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines. Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT team for performance improvements. Generate financial reports and statements to Managers for review. Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.Requirements Possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Proven experience with Bank Reconciliations Demonstrable knowledge in maintaining General Ledger Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Expertise in using financial software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Proven problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
