Aquatics Manager

Develops programs to meet the needs of members and participants in aquatics programs. Develops and communicates swim lesson schedule for all facilities with pools. Assist in development and upkeep of all aquatic related marketing and information. Communicate to past participants regarding new opportunities. Coordinate communication with schools, parks and rec departments and other organizations. Maintain advertisings working with Corp. Communications to effectively communicate programs. Coordinates all interaction with Planning Design and Construction and Facilities Management for work related to the Pinehurst location. Manages an inventory control process for aquatic program supplies and housekeeping supplies. Makes recommendations for purchase of all aquatic and housekeeping equipment. Ensures proper cleaning and disinfection of all areas of center. Teaches swim lessons and other aquatics related education programs.Trains staff at all FirstHealth fitness facilities with pools regarding instructing swim lessons. Assists with certain other programs such as, but not limited to, birthday parties and certain children’s special events at center as needed. Recruits, screens, selects, and trains high caliber employees. Assures that each employee has met the orientation, training or certification requirements of the position, and maintains a current CPR certification. Maintains employee performance through consistent application of FirstHealth standards. Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor certification required. North Carolina Certified Pool Operator required within 6 months of hire. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer certification preferred. Applicants should have a minimum of two (2) years successful working experience in a fitness environment. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a fitness, business or recreation related field preferred. The applicant should also have experience in program development for aquatics, fitness or recreation. Applicants should posses excellent organizational skills, visible enthusiasm and interpersonal skills; must have verbal ability to direct and control activities and staff.
