Payroll Accountant

Description We are seeking to recruit an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to manage the full cycle of payroll processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. They will also work closely with HR and Accounting teams to maintain and improve payroll accounting policies and procedures.Responsibilities:

Oversee the complete payroll process and ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

Accurately calculate payroll liabilities by applying appropriate federal, state, and local payroll tax rates.

Ensure compliance with current regulations and company policies; maintain an up-to-date understanding of payroll and benefit tax laws.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports for management and auditors.

Reconcile payroll processed to the general ledger, resolving any discrepancies.

Work closely with HR and Accounting departments to implement payroll procedures and policies and collaborate on cross-functional projects.

Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and managers in a professional and timely manner.

Assist in the development and testing of new payroll systems or enhancements, ensuring that systems are functioning properly and that output is correct.

Requirements

bi-Monthly Payroll, Automated Payroll, GAAP Accounting, BillingQualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.

Proven experience as a payroll accountant for at least three years.

In-depth understanding of payroll taxes and employment law.

Proficiency in MS Office and payroll software.

High numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

Strong ethical mindset and discretion to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
