We are Seeking the Last Survivor

This job posting is not about the job; it’s about You - if you are a trained and experienced Sales Professional.

If you have experience and training in face-to-face high dollar consultative Sales and Closing, you are a rare breed in the 21st century. Maybe you are the Last Survivor of traditional sales.

The internet has made everything more efficient. The internet cut out the middleman in most industries. Huge industries that used to train sales reps from teenagers no longer do so. Work from home accelerated the demise of IRL customer interactions.

That transition killed most of the highest paying sales jobs. There are no more stockbrokers. No one needs an insurance agent. Electronics are bought online and delivered next day or same day. Carvana and Carmax gave the information advantage to the buyers. Real Estate commissions are getting cut. Multi-thousand dollar phones are left on your doorstep by the postal carrier. Gym memberships which used to require financing now cost $10 per month. There are no more 100-desk outbound tele-sales operations. Who needs sales professionals?

This transition period also killed Sales Training programs. Sales used to be a profession. There was a common acknowledged set of skills and practices that were transferrable across companies and industries. Not anymore. The famous sales training programs of Xerox and IBM are history. Medium companies no longer employ sales trainers. Small companies don’t even employ Sales Managers.

There are fewer traditional sales jobs.

There are even fewer remaining Traditional Sales Professionals.

If you are one of the last survivors, we have the best high-touch face-to-face consultative High Dollar professional Sales Job.

You are the right candidate for this Opportunity if:

You can explain at least 3 classic closes.

You have read one or more books about selling.

You have completed a corporate sales training program.

You have been to a motivational seminar.

You can explain SPIN SELLING or the Miller Heiman sales process.

You have studied one or more of Zig Ziglar, Tom Champion, Earl Nightingale, Norman Vincent Peale, Tony Robbins, Grant Cardone, or Dale Carnegie.

You have listened to sales training tapes, CDs, or streaming audio.

You have earned a spiff or won a Caribbean vacation based on sales volume.

You already know that Second Prize is a set of steak knives.

“Find out what the other fellow wants; then help him find the best way to get it.”

Today, one can buy a bed in a box from two dozen internet companies.

But Mattress Warehouse still has a classic sales opportunity. Clients want to touch the product. They need a room with 100 beds where they can lie down and try a bunch to decide which one they want to take home for the next decade. Sales are made with emotion, and closes happen when the customer obtains ENOUGH logic to justify the decision they already want to make. The salesman’s job is to block and guide and steer them down the field and help push them right over the goal line and then shut up and complete the transaction without talking past the close.

And this is a big-ticket item. Beds don’t cost as much as a house or an SUV, but the good ones do cost $5000, $10,000, $25,000. And those kinds of sales deserve rewarding commissions.
