The Mad Crabber is a fast paced, family owned and operated local seafood restaurant in its 32nd season.
Hiring a kitchen manager to join our team, come live and work at the beach! We offer competitive pay, consistent schedule, housing and a chance to experience Hatteras Island for the 2024 season. We offer oppurtunities for creativity with specials and seasonal items on our menu. Our season goes from mid April through October. We work hard to create a positive work environment that allows for a work/life balance. ```Duties:```
- Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
- Manage and lead a team of kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
- Coordinate food production and preparation, ensuring high quality and timely service
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with other departments, such as front-of-house staff, to ensure seamless service
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints related to the kitchen
```Requirements:```
- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably in a supervisory role
- Strong team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff
- Knowledge of food service management principles and practices
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and procedures
- Proficient in food production techniques and culinary skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems is a plus
- Ability to conduct interviews and make hiring decisions
