A concrete laborer, also known as a concrete form laborer, builds structures using concrete. Their responsibilities include:
- Design and building forms
- Concrete laborers design and build forms for building foundations.
- Pouring concrete
- Concrete laborers pour concrete for sidewalks, driveways, basements, patios, and more. They also pour and level concrete according to project specifications.
- Spreading and smoothing concrete
- Concrete laborers spread and smooth concrete to ensure a durable finish. They may also apply stains and gloss dried concrete to meet design plans.
- Operating concrete mixing machines
- Concrete laborers operate concrete mixing machines and ensure that all measurements are accurate.
- Setting expansion joints
- Concrete laborers set expansion joints in cement to prevent cracks caused by temperature changes.
- Maintaining safety standards
- Concrete laborers follow and maintain safety standards set by state and federal regulations.
