NEEDS
My father and I seek hands-on care for my 83-year-old mother who is recovering from a stroke experienced in May 2023. She is currently non-ambulatory, incontinent, recovering from aphasia (limited communications/gestures), and receives medications and meals via syringe/gastrointestinal tube. Some or all of the following tasks may be needed five to seven days per week.
6am-7am:
- Change brief/clean up
- Change shirt
- Administer medications and breakfast
11am-2pm:
- Change brief/clean up
- Bathe (bed bath; once per week, only)
- Dress (pants/socks)
- Transfer from bed to wheelchair
- Administer lunch
- Conduct range-of-motion leg exercises
- Transfer from wheelchair to bed
- Undress (pants/socks)
- Change brief/clean up (if necessary)
5pm-6pm:
- Change brief/clean up
- Administer medications and dinner
- Remove and clean dentures
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
- Eligible to legally work in the U.S.—completion of Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) will be required
- Experience providing hands-on care in either home or medical facility settings
- Soft-spoken, warm, and patient
- Ability to physically handle 125 pounds when cleaning, dressing, and transferring client to/from wheelchair
- Willingness to undergo background and reference checks
- Fluency in Tagalog and/or Spanish (preferred but not required)
PAY & WITHHOLDING INFORMATION
Hourly wage negotiable
Social Security, Medicare, and federal and state unemployment insurance taxes will be withheld
Federal income tax will not be withheld
