You will play a pivotal role in shaping how our journalism is presented to readers across digital platforms, working closely with editors and reporters. In this role you will:Update the AFR homepage, ensuring content is fresh, accurate, and engaging.Edit and publish stories, including first takes and updates, maintaining high editorial standards.Collaborate with editors and reporters to enhance stories for digital platforms.Write and optimise story sells including headlines, SEO elements, and write-offs to drive audience engagement.Use data analytics to monitor story performance.Monitor news wires and other sources.Attend news conferences and contribute to coverage planning.Add multimedia assets (photos, videos, social media posts) to stories and write engaging captions.Post on social channels and curate newsletters, as required.
