Senior Strategy Manager, GPG

Job Description

• Provide analytic and project management support for key elements within major strategic initiatives, including: business unit growth strategies, channel structuring, business process improvement, and post-merger integration
• Support the SVP of Growth & Development and Strategy Director in implementing an integrated strategic planning process
• Provide due diligence support for potential M&A
  • Lead research on prospective firms and conduct analysis about business fit and long-term growth potential
  • Scope and develop acquisition business cases (financial and strategic) as required
  • Track & participate in target outreach
  • Prepare and analyze financial models (acquisition projections, pro forma forecasts, etc.)
  • Direct due-diligence activities across functional departments
• Conduct financial and commercial assessments of various growth paths and provide input into Executive Team level presentations to align on portfolio prioritization, investment allocation, and project phasing.
• Partner with business leaders to identify and assess incremental growth opportunities
  • Perform structured analysis of business data to uncover important insights and identify gaps and opportunities
  • Use a hypothesis-based approach to assess potential solutions and create a compelling business case or recommendation
  • Build financial models to quantify opportunities and understand the impact to the P&L

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Business (Finance, Accounting) is required; Master’s degree is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a management consulting or corporate strategy role is required.
• Strong financial acumen, broad business skill set, good strategic perspective, and a mature and practical mindset. Proficiency with modeling skills using MS Excel.
• Strong analytic thinking and ability to execute structured analyses and design approaches to open-ended questions.
• Proven team leadership capabilities and communications skills; an ability to work with and influence a variety of different positions within an organization to drive results
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to build credibility across functions
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Takes ownership for business results and drives for growth
  • Works outside scope of responsibility to take on additional strategic projects
  • Is comfortable working in unstructured environment and able to manage multiple priorities
• Travel requirement of up to 25% to key offices in Irvine (CA), Toronto, and Montreal.
