The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management Requirements - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
Experience with ERP systems
Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Experience with general ledger
Adeptness in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting
Daily Cash Receipts experience preferred
Strong familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
Month end closings experience desired
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
