That’s what #LifeAtCummins is all about.We are looking for a talented Production Technician III to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Components Business Segment team in Maxton, NC.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:Description

Utilizes manufacturing work instructions to assemble purchased parts into finished Commercial Vehicle System products.

Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, dial indicators, and micrometers to determine adherence of product characteristics to prescribed specifications.

Operate machinery according to set procedures – meeting productivity goals in a safe, quality, and environmentally sound, cost-effective manner.

Initiate action, up to and including stopping the line, to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and quality systems

Understand what constitutes producing a quality product that meets customer expectations.

Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected as defined by applicable procedures and/or delegation of the area manufacturing manager or designee.

Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Licenses, CertificationsHigh school diploma, College, or equivalent training in material handling, forklifting or related field required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.Experience

Must have two (2) years of experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, or electrical/electronic field.

Must understand and be able to use basic math, fractions, basic algebra, decimals, and metrics.

Must be able to read and understand work instructions.

Must be flexible and be able to work in a team environment.

Must be able to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers.

Excellent attendance, time management and housekeeping skills.

Flexible to work multiple shifts as needed.

Must be physically able to lift up to 40pounds, pick/pull and package parts.

Physical Demands:Ability to physically access all areas of the plant with reasonable accommodations and ability to communicate clearly with the management staff and other production technicians. During any regular shift, individuals may be required to physically: stand (5-6 hours); use both hands to grasp tools and parts, and push and pull (3-4 hours); use of head and neck in a static or turning motion (3-4 hours); and looking forward, side to side, and down (7-8 hours). Manual assembly also involves some amount of bending, reaching, lifting, and turning.
