Description We are in search of a diligent Sr. Cost Accountant to join our team located in Lincolnton, North Carolina. This role will require you to work on-site initially, transitioning to a hybrid or fully remote arrangement after a few weeks. The position is crucial to our operations within the manufacturing industry, with a focus on cost accounting for high degrees of customization and large quantities of bill of materials. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all aspects of cost accounting functions within a manufacturing environment. Analyze and report on the costs and variances of production and stock, including large quantities of bill of materials. Collaborate with other team members and provide oversight and direction for mid-tier level personnel. Develop and implement robust cost accounting systems and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and assist in financial decision-making processes. Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement strategies to increase efficiency. Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts. Coordinate with the audit team to conduct annual audits. Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations. Requirements Possess a strong understanding of accounting functions Proven experience in cost accounting Prior experience in manufacturing cost accounting is essential Proficiency in handling bill of materials (BOM) Ability to create and maintain financial reports Excellent analytical skills for understanding and interpreting financial data Strong communication skills for presenting financial information Knowledge of accounting software and databases Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required Professional certification (e.g. CMA, CPA) is an advantage Must adhere to confidentiality and data protection protocols.
