Description We are looking for a meticulous Public Staff Tax Accountant for a 3-month contract engagement with our client in Monroe. The successful candidate will work closely with our client, providing them with expert tax advice and helping them meet their tax obligations. This role focused on tax accounting functions, auditing, and compliance. Drake Tax software is a must have. Responsibilities: Evaluate and process customer tax returns using Drake Tax Software. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. Employ accounting functions to maintain accurate records of all cash activity. Provide exceptional customer service to address and resolve tax inquiries. Manage tax-related tasks using Microsoft Excel to organize data and generate reports. Prepare individual tax returns and ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date. Collaborate with team members to manage and optimize tax accounting processes. Stay current with industry trends and changes in tax laws to provide accurate advice to clients. Implement management systems to streamline tax accounting processes and enhance efficiency.Requirements Proficient in Drake Tax Software Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Capable of performing a variety of accounting functions Familiarity with auditing procedures and processes Ability to handle cash activity and maintain accurate records Knowledge of compliance requirements in the field of taxation Strong customer service skills Understanding of individual tax laws Ability to handle public staff tax accounting duties Relevant professional qualifications in accounting or related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team High level of integrity and ethical standards.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
