DescriptionJOB SUMMARYThe Clinical Nursing Assistant is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting. Reporting and accountable to the Pre-Operation Phase II leader.RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.
Observes, collects, and documents patient information obtained while providing care and promptlyreportsignificant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.
Assistspatients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge.
Provides care/ treatments to patients as outlined in plan of care including, but not limited to:
Monitoring of vital signs
Measurement of height and weight
Specimen collection
Skin preps/scrubs such aschlorohexidine (CHG) bathing
Catheter care
Capillary blood glucose checks
Simple wound care
Range-of-motion exercises
Drain care
Assistpatients withroutine activities of daily living(ADL)such as bathing, dressing,feedingandassistingwith ambulation as outlined in plan of care
Maintains an effective clinical work environment includingbut not limited to cleaning the work area, changing linens,maintaining and monitoringsupply levels, andtransporting patients/specimens throughout hospital.
QUALIFICATIONSRequired
Must havenursing assistant certification, such as Nurse Aide II registration as administered by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) or equivalent
Five (5) years of experience working in aclinicalrole in a hospital setting
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred
Three (3)years of experience working innursing assistant rolein a hospital setting.
Nursing Aide II registration as administered by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) or equivalent
