DescriptionBecome part of an inclusive organization with over 40,000 diverse employees, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of the unique communities we serve.Summary:Participates in the day-to-day operations of the cancer center oncology data management area to include (but not limited to) cancer registry data collection on all newly diagnosed cancer cases (both analytical and non- analytical); appropriate coding; data entry; data gathering/analysis; reporting to NC Central Cancer Registry and the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB). Works to oversee the operational components of the cancer program’s accreditations to include conferences, committee meetings and subcommittees needed to meet standards for the American College of Surgeons CoC and NAPBC accreditations. Works with medical staff to schedule CME activities that will benefit our physicians, mid-level providers and other ancillary staff as needed.Responsibilities: Coordinates program accreditations including Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers and others as we explore their criteria, standards, costs, benefits, etc. Coordinates meetings including the Cancer Conference (weekly), Cancer Committee (quarterly), as well as task forces and subcommittees as necessary to meet the program standards. Follows national and state guidelines for reporting of cancer cases. Coordinates Physician CME activities (in addition to cancer conference as needed). Assists physicians on presentations in their specialty. Works with CME companies to bring speakers in who are subject matter experts. Works with area physicians to bring in speakers to cover relevant topics (i.e. opioid abuse so that CME requirements are met). Responds to data requests from Administration, Cancer Program leadership, Physicians and Cancer Research Participates in the abstraction on analytical and non-analytical cases using EPIC and the cancer registry software (e.g., CRStar). Assists team with case-finding, follow-up, and lost to follow-up activities.PARDEEOther information:RequiredAssociate's degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Four (4) years of experience as a cancer registrar. Must have background in medical record operations. Computer/database skill required.
