Summary About the Position: This position is located at US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), Fort Liberty, NC. Responsibilities Serves as a project team leader and direct team members assigned for specific projects in matters pertaining to the development and management of mid to long-range plans and policies. Provide day to day continuity for Command efforts in support of the Strategic Planning mid to long-range strategic guidance for force development analysis capabilities in achieving operational and strategic end states and objectives. Evaluate global and national trends, world threat, present and future required capabilities. Implement Special Operations plans, policy and strategy as they relate strategic guidance development. Prepare briefings, studies, fact sheets, and correspondence on mid to long-range strategic plans, policies and programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience in 1) Developing, analyzing, and implementing mid and long-range theater command strategic plans (OPLAN, Theater Campaign Plans, Campaign Support Plans, Mission Guidance Letters, etc.); 2) Analysis of theater command strategic plans to determine Special Operations operational mission requirements; 2) Conducting reviews of current global and national trends and national policy guidance (NSS, NDS, NMS, JSCP, etc.); 3) Experience in Mid and Long-Range Capabilities based planning processes and 4) Experience in Force Development processes of mid and long-range required capabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
