Boat builder including wiring of center consoles. Must be able to read a tape measure accurately, have experience using hand and power tools and be able to lift 50lbs. Excellent attention to detail required. Manufacturing experience preferred.
Wiring Experience a plus. Carpentry experience preferred.
Hull Prep:
Organize materials and tools needed for the job.
Using a tape measure, measure out the proper location of the part to be installed and drill the proper size hole.
Attach all hoses to the appropriate fittings with hose clamps, double clamp all through hull fittings below the
waterline. Hoses should be secured so they can not move and will not leak.
Install hardware in the pre-drilled hole and tighten the screws or bolts with a socket wrench or air powered driver.
Seal all pre-drilled holes with silicone or 5200 caulking to prevent water from leaking in the boat.
Connect all color coded wiring properly and neatly secure them as described in the work instructions. Will strip
insulation from ends of wires using electrician’s pliers and connects wires to terminals.
Routes wiring harnesses through hull system and secures harnesses with nylon straps.
Pulls lengths of wire from harness at specified points to complete branch circuits.
Drills holes in bulkheads and in cabin areas to mount various components. May operate overhead hoist to install
large components.
May lead and give directions to other workers performing the same duties.Maintain hand tools to prevent
damage to the part and the tool itself. Keep a lid on acetone at all times and always ground the acetone container
before transferring acetone.
