Please note: This position is remote until Spring 2021, after that the candidate will need to be available to work in Durham, NC.

Must be available for 10 hour overnight shift Monday-Thursday (10pm-8am EST)We are looking for a Threat Analyst to work on our Managed Security Services Team. The Threat Analyst will join our team of highly skilled cyber security professionals. The ideal candidate will have experience in reading and understanding packet captures, identifying exploits, attacks, and payloads. Will have knowledge of DDoS attacks and experience with Intrusion Detection technologies like Cisco Firepower, AlienVault, McAfee, Tipping Point, Palo Alto, etc. This is the perfect opportunity for the successful candidate to become a part of an innovative and energetic team that develops and matures our analysis. We are looking for a seasoned threat analysts to not only analyze data, but also act as a mentor which contributes to a continuous improvement environment in the ever-changing Incident Response lifecycle.

Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to think like an attacker and a detailed understanding of offensive security
  • Ability to perform threat research and profile attackers
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to quickly analyze large amounts of often conflicting data and making sound decisions
  • Experience in identifying indicators of compromise
  • Thorough understanding of how to detect lateral movement within a network and “Thinking Outside the Box” to discover the signal within the noise
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to simplify findings to brief management and customers
