Geologist I

AECOM is seeking a Geologist I to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects in accordance with Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), various North Carolina Department of Environmental Services (NCDES) and North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) programs and other regulatory agencies.The selected candidate will conduct field tasks, including site investigations, drilling oversight, soil and groundwater sample collection, and related work. The candidate may also provide office support for data management, report preparation, and maintain the required AECOM-related documentation and forms.The selected individual will serve as a team member in the office and the field, assisting project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.The job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to:Conducting environmental field work, including water level measurements and collection of soil, groundwater, soil gas, surface water and pore water samples in addition to field parameters. Recording of remediation system data, soil logging, and oversight of field surveys, well installation oversight, well development, and utility clearance for intrusive operations.Field document preparation, field data collection, processing, and interpretation.Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure complianceTravel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
