The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for the preparation and review of assigned construction estimate packages; implementing department standards and procedures while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of estimate packages. The Project Manager/Estimator will be responsible for getting jobs involving waterline, sewer line, sitework, construction, earthwork/grading and concrete work. They must be able to read/review plans, proposals, specifications, RFP’s, and any other project related documents necessary to develop a competent and competitive estimate/bid package.
They must be able to get estimates from various subcontractors and vendors to prepare estimate packages.
They must be able to review labor, equipment, and material costs, for preparation of estimate/bid packages.
They must be able to prepare estimates from drawings. They must be able to produce detailed, final contract estimates, for Projects. They must be able to assess project exposures/construction risks and appropriately analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate. They must be able to identify potential construction issues through the estimating process.
