Fleet ManagerOverview:The Fleet Manager is responsible for maintaining and managing all company vehicles, equipment, and the shop yard to ensure operational efficiency and safety. This includes performing repairs, conducting regular inspections, and maintaining a clean, orderly work environment. The Fleet Manager ensures that all trucks, trailers, and equipment are in excellent working condition to support the needs of the business year-round.Responsibilities:Equipment Maintenance and Repair:Perform repairs and routine maintenance on trucks, trailers, and two-cycle equipment such as mowers, blowers, and edgers.Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with regulations.Fleet Management:Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the fleet, including washing and detailing as needed.Maintain a schedule for preventive maintenance and ensure timely repairs to minimize downtime.Shop and Yard Management:Keep the shop and yard clean, organized, and safe for all employees.Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies to ensure availability when needed.Fueling and Readiness:Oversee fueling operations to ensure all vehicles and equipment are ready for daily use.Implement and maintain fueling logs and records for accuracy.Safety Compliance:Ensure all equipment and vehicles meet safety standards and address any issues promptly.Enforce safety protocols for all employees using equipment or vehicles.Record Keeping and Reporting:Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.Provide regular updates to management on fleet status, repair needs, and safety compliance.Qualifications:Proven experience in fleet management or equipment maintenance within the commercial landscaping or similar industry.Strong mechanical skills with expertise in repairing and maintaining two-cycle equipment, trucks, and trailers.Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards related to fleet and equipment maintenance.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.Key Performance Indicators:Equipment Readiness:Ensure all vehicles and equipment are operational and ready for daily use.Maintenance Efficiency:Complete repairs and maintenance within scheduled timeframes.Safety Compliance:Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all safety regulations.Shop and Yard Organization:Ensure the shop and yard remain clean, organized, and functional.Cost Management:Minimize downtime and repair costs through effective preventive maintenance.Work Environment:Combination of indoor and outdoor work, often requiring hands-on repairs and inspections.Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on operational efficiency and safety.This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of service and reliability that our company provides to clients.
