About AHEAD:

The Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) is a non-profit professional membership organization dedicated to promoting full participation of disabled individuals in higher education. AHEAD provides resources, training, and advocacy to support disability service professionals, students, educators, faculty and administrators in creating inclusive environments and equity on higher education campuses. It has nearly 6,000 members in the U.S. and internationally.

Job Description:

AHEAD is seeking a highly organized and dynamic individual to fill the role of Member Services Assistant. The ideal candidate will possess excellent administrative skills, attention to detail, outstanding communication skills, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

● Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries regarding membership and member services via telephone and email.

● Maintain electronic and physical filing systems to ensure documents are organized and easily accessible.

● Assist with membership management tasks, including processing membership, renewals, and updates to member database.

● Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by demonstrating professionalism, respect, and teamwork.

Qualifications:

● Minimum of 2 years of experience in office administration.

● Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse community.

● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management systems.

● Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.

● Associate degree preferred.
