Job Responsibilities:

As a Manufacturing Engineer in Assembly, you will be responsible for the processes involving the construction and welding of our bodies. The Assembly department is our largest department, consisting of over 200 associates across 2 shifts, and is organized into 14 production lines and 3 support cells.

Learns Altec’s product lines and systems/rules/processes required for different Engineering roles at Altec.

Troubleshooting Production Issues

Establishing Standard Work on production lines

Develop Work Instructions, SOPs, and other documentation

Developing and Implementing Quality Correct Actions

Lead and participate in Rapid Continuous Improvement events

Lead and participate in collaborative Design for Manufacturing projects

Design jigs, fixtures, and support equipment

Floor layout design and optimization

Support continuous improvement and troubleshooting of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

Minimum Requirements:

ABET EAC certified Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Master’s Degree in Engineering

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision

Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying.
