We’re excited to announce a new opportunity for a Product Area Manager to lead the Item/Product Domain for Compass Group. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of transforming our data landscape, managing a team of talented professionals, and delivering impactful data products that power our business.What You’ll Do:

Vision & Strategy: Craft and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Item/Product Domain. Ensure your plans align with our enterprise data strategy and business goals.

End-to-End Management: Oversee the full product lifecycle-from ideation to delivery and ongoing maintenance. Use agile and lean methodologies to drive product success and adaptability.

Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a dynamic team of product owners, data engineers, and data analysts. Cultivate a culture that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and a customer-first mindset.

Performance & Improvement: Set and track key performance indicators and quality metrics. Use feedback mechanisms to continually enhance the value and usability of our data products.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Understand and prioritize the data needs of stakeholders across areas such as procurement, menu creation, food ordering, vending, and AR/AP. Align solutions to meet these diverse requirements.

Compliance & Security: Ensure all data products adhere to our governance, security, and privacy standards, maintaining the highest levels of integrity and protection.

Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve by researching and integrating new technologies and best practices. Recommend solutions that advance our data capabilities and competitive edge.

What You Need to Succeed:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: At least 10 years in product management, data management, or data engineering, ideally within the Consumer Packaged Goods or food industry.

Proven Success: Demonstrated track record of delivering data products that exceed stakeholder expectations and drive business outcomes.

Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, influence, and inspire cross-functional teams and senior management with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of data modeling, quality, governance, and integration practices. Proficient with agile and lean methodologies, including tools like Scrum, Kanban, ADO/Jira, and Confluence.

Passion for Data: A genuine enthusiasm for data and innovation, coupled with a drive to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
