Description Position Overview:Robert Half client is looking for a detail-oriented Grants Accountant with at least a couple of years of direct work experience with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and their grant account system (IDIS), as well as familiarity with the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program grant and monitoring requirements. This part-time position will involve managing grant accounting functions and ensuring compliance with HUD regulations.Responsibilities:
Manage grant accounting processes for HUD-funded programs, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program
Maintain accurate and detailed records of grant expenditures, reimbursements, and allocations
Prepare and submit financial reports and reimbursement requests to HUD in accordance with grant requirements and deadlines
Monitor grant budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with grant agreements and regulations
Coordinate with program managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for grant reporting and compliance
Conduct reconciliations of grant accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed
Stay updated on HUD regulations, policies, and procedures related to grant accounting and reporting
Assist in preparing for and participating in grant audits and monitoring reviews
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
At least a couple of years of direct work experience with HUD and their grant account system (IDIS)
Familiarity with the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program grant and monitoring requirements
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
