Description Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a cost accountant. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Generate costs and cost saving ideas based on analysis
Design a cost accounting system, and manage the documents and records of the organization- Follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
Support audits and general ledger preparation
Generate reports for management that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
Determine any changes in cost by analyzing any changes in services or goods provided
Decide costs of business activity, including raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
Take physical inventory and review the cycle count program
Log a detailed record of collected data
Put into action a standard costing methodology for domestic plants
Generate reports comparing production costs to standard costs and analyze manufacturing costs
Carry out variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
Approximate costs for new and proposed products- Generate and complete internal cost audits Requirements - Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
Strong analytical thinking and a detail-oriented mindset
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Prior experience utilizing cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
2 years of Cost Accounting work experience
Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts
