Description Role: Senior Legal Counsel/In House CounselCompensation: $175-225k DOEWork Setting: HybridLocation: Charlotte MetroAn esteemed public investment management firm seeks an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to support its U.S. operations. This firm is experiencing significant growth and expansion in the U.S., offering the right candidate an exciting opportunity to engage in innovative and challenging projects. Based in the firm's headquarters in Charlotte, the Senior Legal Counsel will be the primary legal contact for all U.S. activities, joining the existing Legal team as the U.S. specialist to provide essential legal expertise for the firm’s broader operations. This position involves close collaboration with the leadership team and other business leaders across the U.S.Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive legal support to the firm's growing U.S. investment management business, including retail fund launches, product updates, and prospectus renewals.

Draft and negotiate investment management agreements, commercial contracts, corporate records, policies, procedures, and various other legal documents.

Review and revise public documents per regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with Compliance teams to respond to U.S. regulatory changes.

Offer advice and support for corporate filings and related obligations.

Manage legal and business risks effectively.

Oversee the engagement of external counsel

Requirements

Qualifications:

Law degree from a recognized university and active membership in the North Carolina State Bar.

5-10 years of experience in an in-house legal department or law firm.

Direct experience in the financial advisory, investment management, or investment fund industry, with a solid understanding of U.S. laws and regulations applicable to the securities industry, registered investment advisers, and investment funds.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and capable of working efficiently both independently and within a team.

CFA designation or completion of other securities industry courses and programs is a plus.

Experience in other financial services markets is a plus.
