Title: Functional Business Analyst Location: Charlotte, NC- Hybrid Duration: 12-month contract to startCompensation: $35-45/hour W2 Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US Job Description: The Functional Analyst will provide system analysis, configuration, QA and support for Enterprise level time and attendance applications. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Work directly with business team members, developers, and user community to identify business needs and interpret them as application requirements primarily related to time and attendance/payroll systems
- Configure complex business pay and entitlement rules in the application pertaining to state and federal labor laws such as overtime, vacation, guarantee, grace pay etc.
- Assist the business with the creation, testing, and implementation of feature enhancements with web-based time and attendance/payroll applications
- Provide second level support
- Draft requirements and specifications documentation, complete to signoff and validate deliverables to specifications
- Function as primary liaison between business and developers
- Write and execute functional test scripts and coordinate with other analysts for system integration testing
- At least 5 years of experience in functional analysis role, preferably on a time and attendance system

- Proven experience in software requirements elicitation
- Being proactive in organizing people and tasks in order to meet deadlines. Ability to question whether certain functionality is a must have or not in order to control scope
- Thinking through problems and suggested solutions to identify strengths and weaknesses in the solution with an eye to future supportability and growth
- Active listening: Asking questions in order to ensure that what is being said is being fully understood
- Proactive communication: Consistently keep management and team members advised on progress through effective communication
- On time development of user stories, application requirements, and/or process flow diagrams
- Use of various requirements elicitation techniques, such as end user interviews, job shadowing, brainstorming, business process analysis and process flow documentation, facilitation
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Creative problem solving skills
- Managing conflicting priorities and gaining consensus across multiple user groups
- Committed and enthusiastic approach to supporting business customers and end users.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with time and attendance systems and configuration of complex pay rules
- Experience with a formal SDLC
- Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
- Formal training or certification in Business Analysis, group facilitation
