Come be a part of what makes us so special!The OpportunityAs a dedicated Employee Relations Advisor (Mid-Level) , you will work collaboratively with key collaborators throughout USAA to provide support and consultation on a wide range of issues including performance management, workplace disputes, conflict resolution, and workplace accommodations. Applies understanding of corporate policies and employment law matters. Serves as a consultant to leaders and employees for resolution of employee relations issues consistent with policies, procedures, and state and federal laws. Consistently demonstrates the ability to provide objective perspectives and exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling confidential information and situations. Liaison between employees, health services, and business leaders to lead the facilitation of employees return-to-work efforts and coordination of employee work restrictions and accommodations. Engages regularly in the interactive process with employees.We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL .Relocation assistance is not available for this position.What you'll do:

Consults with leaders and employees by providing guidance, oversight, and coaching on employee relations practices, policies, and processes in moderately complex situations under limited supervision.

Applies proficient functional knowledge to provide solutions and advise on employee relations strategies and risks including, but not limited, to employee separations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, job accommodations, and temporary assignments.

Leverages relationships with employees, leaders, partners, and vendors to manage Employee Relations cases to meet compliance requirements and mitigate risk in accordance with the applicable federal, state, and local laws under direct supervision.

Coordinates effectively with employees, leaders, partners, and vendors when managing accommodation cases to meet compliance requirements and mitigate risk.

Assists in creating training content and facilitates training programs to include Employee Relation program, policy, and process updates for leaders and other partners based on audience needs.

Leverages reporting metrics/analytics to ensure compliance, monitor trends, and proactively address issues with organization leaders and other partners. Provides reports as requested.

Facilitates the interactive process required to implement accommodations and enable the return-to-work; stay at work process.

Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

4 years of relevant work experience in Employee Relations or Human Resources, to include proficient functional knowledge of relevant policies and employment laws.

Proficient knowledge of HIPAA, EEO, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, Equal Pay, OFCCP, DOL and other fair employment regulatory compliance requirements and laws.

Proficient knowledge of HR/Employee investigation processes.

Proficient knowledge of all privacy policies and regulations for handling confidential and sensitive information.

Strong written and verbal communication skills when coaching leaders at all levels, guiding employees at all levels by building and maintaining relationships, ability to de-escalate and resolve highly emotional and sensitive issues and communicating material on Employee Relations related topics to a variety of audiences.

Developing experience with data management, reporting, and analysis.

Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: Civil Rights Act 1964 - EEOC, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs - DOL, National Labor Relations Act - NLRB, Americans with Disabilities Act - EEOC, Family Medical Leave ACT (FMLA); Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act (GINE); Uniformed Services Employment & Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA; and Misc. State and/or Local municipal leave laws.

You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
