Description Robert Half Marketing & Creative is looking for a copy editor for one o our clients in Charlotte, NC! This position is a freelance opportunity.We are seeking a detail-oriented Copy Editor to join our team in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and clarity of our written content across various mediums, including websites, marketing materials, social media, and more. As a key member of our editorial team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of our projects and uphold our commitment to excellence in content creation.Responsibilities:

Review and edit written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and style according to established guidelines and standards.

Ensure accuracy and consistency of facts, statistics, and references through thorough fact-checking and research.

Collaborate with writers, designers, and other team members to maintain brand voice and tone across all content assets.

Conduct quality assurance checks to identify and correct errors in content layout, formatting, and presentation.

Provide constructive feedback to writers and stakeholders to improve the clarity, coherence, and effectiveness of their communication.

Develop and maintain style guides, editorial standards, and best practices to uphold quality and consistency in written content.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Stay informed about industry trends, language usage, and best practices in copy editing and content creation.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.

Proven experience (3+ years) as a copy editor, preferably in an agency, publishing, or media environment.

Exceptional command of the English language and proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and style.

Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to editing and prooing.

Familiarity with style guides such as AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style, or client-specific guidelines.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and other editing tools/software.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing project requirements and deadlines.
