Position Number: 002579Department: Office of OneIT (Adm)Employment Type: Permanent - Full-timeMonths Per Year: 12Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The College Support IT Analyst serves the unique health-related instructional technology needs, as well as other standard information technology needs, of faculty, staff, and students across the College of Health and Human Services ( CHHS ), which includes the Department of Applied Physiology, Health, & Clinical Sciences, Department of Public Health Sciences, School of Social Work, School of Nursing, and School of Data Science. The IT Analyst is responsible for developing relationships in support of these efforts across the UNC Charlotte community. Foremost among these relationships, the IT Analyst works closely with OneIT Client Engagement, Learning Space Technology, and other departments supporting instructional technology efforts. The IT Analyst may make decisions regarding instructional systems, labs, and classrooms that impact other systems, faculty, and/or staff members.

Serve as primary contact for CHHS faculty, instructors, and staff using technology in instruction and academic program planning.

Assess information technology needs of college employees and identify opportunities to address these needs by leveraging campus resources, internally developed college resources, or externally available resources.

Utilize campus resources to assist faculty in the capture and distribution of course materials and educational resources.

Assist research faculty in the development of Data Security Plans for approval by the Data Security Officer.

Work closely with the CHHS IT Director on special projects as assigned.

Minimum Experience / Education:

Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or technology-related field and 2-4 years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of appropriate hardware and software technologies used in enterprise settings, preferably in higher education.

Experience with data security concepts, technology compliance, or similar.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

Experience supporting faculty and their research through the use of survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics) to collect and compile study or classroom participant information, and by quickly adapting to the use of unique technology, such as tools for nursing simulations.

Experience with specific software applications in a university setting, including but not limited to: Google Workspaces suite (Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Calendar, etc.), Microsoft Office, video conferencing (Zoom), instructional platforms (Canvas), and file sharing (Dropbox and Google Drive).

Experience coordinating with and supporting other internal and external teams that enable learning objectives (such other teams may include those that handle website design or audio/visual classroom equipment, among others).

Exceptional communication skills and ability to form relationships with colleagues and internal clients.
