3+ years of NodeJS API development experience using frameworks such as NestJS

Experience with building cloud services in AWS including DynamoDB, ECS, Lambda

Demonstrated API experience building stable API's supporting multiple consumers without causing breaking changes

Deep understanding of scalable stateless application development and knowledge of best practices for building highly available systems

A highly collaborative and fast learner that's willing to work wherever they're needed on the team

Demonstrated experience with software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms.

Ability to effectively communicate technical issues in a manner all can understand

Ability to work with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to prioritize work relative to both delivering business value and addressing technical debt.

Research and employs contemporary software development techniques to ensure quality and improve velocity of the team

Experience with Agile software development methodology to follow architecture standards and best practices

In this role, you will:

Provide senior level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. Integrate third party products.

Translate technical specifications into code for complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients. Write programs, develop code, test artifacts, and produce reports.

Elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provide follow up production support. Submit change control requests and documents.

Thoroughly understands software development methodology. Thoroughly understand development architecture standards. Train and mentor staff with less experience. Resolve elevated issues.

Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues. Explain technical considerations at related meetings, including those with internal clients. Perform systems analysis activities.

Thoroughly understand client business functions and technology needs. Has a broad understanding of Vanguard's technologies, tools, and applications, including those that interface with business area and systems.

Interface with cross functional team members, and communicate systems issues at the appropriate technical level for each audience.

Thoroughly understand and comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures, and verify that deliverables meet requirements.

What it takes:

Minimum of five years related work experience, with at least one year of development experience.

Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
