AWS DevOps Solution Architect

Description Join our client's Digital Product Development team in a fast-paced, open-source, and collaborative environment. As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will manage core production and development services in a mission-critical Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment. Your work will directly contribute to the delivery of innovative solutions, ensuring stability, scalability, and security for our digital products. Communication and teamwork are integral to success in this role. Remote candidates will be considered but there is a strong preference for the person to be able to work hybrid and/or be local to Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and manage servers and services in AWS using DevOps best practices.

Implement security and patch management for various platforms and technologies.

Collaborate with developers and product teams to design stable, scalable architectures and solutions aligned with evolving business goals.

Troubleshoot and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating with relevant stakeholders.

Develop and maintain detailed documentation for application environments.

Participate in an On-Call rotation to ensure 24/7 system availability (nights, weekends, and holidays).

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, CloudWatch, RDS, etc.

5+ years of Linux/Unix systems administration experience.

Proficiency in Apache, MySQL, and other open-source technologies.

Strong scripting experience using Bash.

Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environments.

Eagerness to stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and tools.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Flexibility to work nights/weekends and occasional travel, if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with DevOps frameworks like CloudFormation, Terraform, Packer, or Ansible.

Proficiency in version control systems such as Git and experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Familiarity with monitoring solutions like New Relic or PagerDuty.

Expertise in AWS and Linux security, including PCI compliance and tools like Wiz.io.

Hands-on experience with MySQL in high-transaction environments.

Programming or scripting knowledge in Python, Perl, or PHP.
