Position Overview AS 400 Programmer (Fulltime opportunity) Requirements: Mandatory Skills: RPG/400, RPGILE Required skills:
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering or IT-related degree is preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in application development, testing, and implementation.
- Programming language: RPG/400, RPGILE, CLP.
- Experienced with RDBMS DB2.
- Programming utilities: PDM, SQL, DFU, SDA, Query, SEU, and MKS.
- TL Ashford label programming.
- IBM OS400 operating system experience.
- Proven logistics business process experience.
- Demonstrable analytical ability.
- Good verbal, written, and visual communication ability.
- Ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical manner.
- Experience reporting issues, status, and estimates to peers and management.
- Build or customize programs (objects) or other software components as required, based on detailed technical specifications and incorporating approved design and programming standards.
- Conduct unit and system testing for all development work.
- Prepare and maintain all required documentation of development work according to corporate standards.
- Ensure all development work is conducted in compliance with established change control procedures.
- Assist with troubleshooting, problem solving, and issue resolution tasks.
- Ensure all development tasks are conducted and completed in cooperation with other technical and functional IT staff team members.
- Maintain continuous interaction and relationships with the business process owners.
- Assist in analyzing business requirements and presenting proposed solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current technical developments in area of expertise.
- Deputize for other team members where required and appropriate.
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotating schedule.
- Strong commitment to delivering quality solutions and projects.
- Ability to handle autonomous projects in a complex cross-application environment.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member in larger 'virtual' projects.
- Capability to communicate benefits and limitations of IT applications to business owners.
- Creative, structured, and analytical in developing application solutions.
- Solid remote working skills and home office setup
- Ability to go the extra mile when needed to deliver projects or resolve issues.
- Experience with warehouse management systems.
- Experience supporting a multi-application integrated environment.
- SAP experience helpful.
- Familiarity with RF device programming is helpful.
- ServiceNow or a similar system.
- Familiar/Experienced with IT Governance in multinational companies
