Description We are providing an opportunity for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to be a part of our team in the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry, situated in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, where you will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable, processing checks, and maintaining accounting software systems. Responsibilities: Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable activities including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management. Utilize Accounting Software Systems such as IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Great Plains (GPAC) to maintain accurate financial records. Regularly use Microsoft Excel for data entry tasks and to manage and analyze financial data. Handle accounting functions including the resolution of discrepancies in the accounts payable process. Ensure accurate and efficient check processing to meet payment deadlines. Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications. Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments. Collaborate with other team members to improve and streamline the accounts payable process. Handle customer credit inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) Knowledge of IBM AS/400 Familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Understanding of Accounting Functions Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) Ability to handle Check Processing Proficient in Data Entry Capability to resolve Discrepancies effectively Strong interpersonal and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
