Accounting Clerk

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity in the Local Government industry for an Accounting Clerk based in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. This role involves handling various accounting tasks, with a focus on credit responsibilities and order-filling, within the public sector.Responsibilities: Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner Maintain precise customer credit records and update them as necessary Resolve customer credit inquiries swiftly and professionally Monitor customer credit accounts regularly and take necessary actions to collect delinquent payments Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks efficiently Ensure all order-filling responsibilities are met with high attention to detail Adhere to local government policies and regulations in all accounting processes. Requirements Prior experience in a local government setting is highly regarded Proficiency in bank reconciliations Knowledge and experience in managing accounts payable (AP) Experience in order-filling tasks Familiarity with accounts receivable (AR) management Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of local government accounting principles and regulations Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
