This position will work closely with the mechanical, electrical, software, verification and manufacturing engineering teams during the entire product lifecycle.
Develops technical solutions to problems which require use of ingenuity and creativity.
Contributes to the completion of technical assignments.
Frequent contact with the project teams, peers and customers.
This position is in Cary, NC with four days onsite and one day work from home schedule.This position supports the Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) Division. To learn more about this Division, please go to https://www.parker.com/us/en/divisions/noise-vibration-and-harshness-division.htmlResponsibilities:Responsibilities include the development of new, dynamic electro-mechanical systems to be used on customer (OEM) platforms, development of specifications and requirements to support production implementation of those systems and troubleshooting of customer field returns and issue resolution.
Develop solutions to complex system level problems with medium to high safety criticality.
Document design requirements and resulting system implementation decisions.
Prepare various system level documentation.
Design and conduct experimentation in the lab, including but not limited to operation of various dynamic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency analyzers, waveform generators, power amplifiers, etc.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Work with project leads to plana and implement design and testing processes.
Participate in multiple projects as a team member.
Qualifications:Required:
Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
0-3 years of relevant industry experience or relevant internship/co-operative education experience.
Demonstrated development of systems from concept and requirements development, initial proof of concept build and test to final implementation in required end use.
Knowledge of basic programming in MATLAB and Simulink with experience in using tools to manipulate and analyze data.
Experience interconnecting mechanical, electrical and software components and demonstrated ability to connect components to form a defined functional architecture.
Knowledge of solid modeling of electromechanical systems, preferably using Autodesk Inventor
Demonstration of proficiency in technical writing and presentation skills.
Ability to lift and move fixtures, test devices and test equipment occasionally.
Occasional travel for evaluating suppliers, risk reduction testing and training is required.
Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
Preferred:
Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
1+ years of relevant industry experience and relevant internship/co-operative education experience.
Familiarity with aerospace system architectures following SAE ARP4754A/B, or industrial equivalents following ISO 26262.
Understanding of system safety and reliability, especially as it related to system architecture per SAE ARP 4754/4761 and certification of aerospace systems per FAR part 29 or industrial equivalents.
Knowledge of electronic components and design and/or embedded programming.
Digital signal processing and controls experience for microcontrollers and/or FPGA's.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software, preferably ANSYS and/or magnetic circuit FEA, such as FEMM or Maxwell.
Demonstrated ability to use and modify National Instruments hardware and Labview software.
Experience managing requirements using DOORs or DOORS Next Gen (DNG).
Contributor to published technical journal paper or article.
